EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement 

The Withdrawal Agreement between the EU and the UK establishes the terms of the UK’s orderly withdrawal from the EU, in accordance with Article 50 of the Treaty of the European Union.

The Withdrawal Agreement entered into force on 1 February 2020, after having been agreed on 17 October 2019, together with the Political Declaration setting the framework of the future EU-UK partnership.

The Agreement consists of two main documents:

  1. The Withdrawal Agreement itself, including a Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland;
  2. A Political Declaration setting out the framework for the future relationship
