COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment – changes to rates of payment

July 6, 2020

If you are a Frontier Worker (living south) claiming the Pandemic Unemployment Payment.

Where we [DEASP] do not have details of your earnings from your employment in another EU Member State, we will use the notional earnings of the country you worked in to calculate your rate.

This will result in your rate of Pandemic Unemployment Payment remaining at €350 per week. You will need to provide confirmation that you were employed as a frontier worker before this can be done.

You should provide either:

  • details of tax returns made in the Republic of Ireland in respect of taxes paid in the UK or relevant EU Member State
  • equivalent of P60 from UK or relevant EU Member State
  • a recent payslip, immediately prior to the date of your claim
